Why You’ll Want to Make This

Falooda is practically built for summer. It’s cold, it’s sweet, and you can play around with the flavors as much as you want. The noodles soak up the milk, the ice cream melts in, and every bite gives you something different. Toss in whatever nuts or dried fruits you like, swap in your favorite ice cream, or add a splash of rosewater if you’re feeling fancy. This dessert is as versatile as it gets.

 What You’ll Need

·       1 cup vermicelli noodles

·       2 cups of milk

·       1 cup of sugar

·       1 cup ice cream (any flavor you love)

·       1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, whatever’s on hand)

·       1/4 cup dried fruits (raisins, cranberries, etc.)

·       1 tablespoon of rosewater (optional)

·       Ice cubes

Tools

·       Large pot

·       Strainer

·       Mixing bowl

·       Spoon

·       Glasses or cups

How To Make It

1. Boil the vermicelli in a big pot of water. Just follow the instructions on the package.

2. Drain the noodles and rinse them under cold water so they stop cooking.

Next, grab a mixing bowl. Pour in the milk and sugar, then stir until the sugar disappears. If you’re using rosewater, add that in and give it another quick stir.

Now, assemble your falooda. Drop a portion of noodles into each glass. Pour some of the sweet milk over them. Top with a scoop of ice cream. Finish with a sprinkle of nuts and dried fruits.

Serve it chilled, maybe with a couple of ice cubes if you want it extra cold.
